Mario L. Marberry has over 15 years experience working in the nonprofit field specializing in healthcare, social work, behavioral health interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, crisis counseling, clinical assessments, substance abuse treatment, children’s issues, research, and management. Currently, Mr. Marberry works as the Vice President of Program Administration & Development of The Children's Place. In this capacity Mr. Marberry is responsible for managing the services offered by a mental health agency that specializes in the care and treatment of young children who have been impacted by the trauma of child abuse and domestic violence.
Mr. Marberry has always had a strong commitment to community which began during his undergraduate days at Washington University in St. Louis. That commitment continues since he moved to the Kansas City Metro area in August of 2001. He is actively involved with his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated where he previously served as the program director of the St. Louis Chapters Youth Mentoring Program, has served as a former Advisory Board Member to Catholic Charities of Greater Kansas City, is actively involved with the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, is a member of National Association of Social Workers, is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), serves on the Board of Directors of Gillis Center for Children and Families, is currently the Vice Chair of the Human Relations Commission for the City of Independence, Missouri, has served as the National Student Coordinator of the National Association of Black Social Workers, and was the former National Chairperson of The Alliance of Black Student Professionals.
Mr. Marberry received a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Bachelors degree in Spanish from Washington University. He also holds a Master of Social Work degree from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University where he concentrated on Children, Youth, & Families with a specialization in Management. He is a 2008 graduate of The Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administrations Executive MBA program where he specialized in Entrepreneurship & Business Development.
Mr. Marberry currently serves as the Chapter Immediate Past President for the Kansas City Chapter of the National Black MBA Association.
